Site History

The new Concentus Citizenship Education website was launched in May 2017. Feedback from educators across the province led to this newly created on-line space and resource hub that connects educators with learning resources, information, events and opportunities related to citizenship education. The website is designed to be a living space that will continue to develop and expand as teachers, students, educational partners, and community members share ideas, resources, information and experiences that enhance citizenship education in our province and beyond.

The Concentus Citizenship Education website was designed to:

  • articulate the alignment of the K-12 Concentus Citizenship Education Resources to Saskatchewan Ministry of Education’s learning outcomes, treaty education, residential schools and the Truth and Reconciliation’s Calls to Action;
  • support educators as they work together to explicitly and intentionally create opportunities for students to develop the skills, knowledge and dispositions of five essential citizenship competencies;
  • house tools and learning resources that will support K-12 citizenship education and pedagogy;
  • promote events and on-line professional learning opportunities to facilitate courageous conversations that support the goals of K-12 citizenship education; and highlight resources developed by Saskatchewan teachers for Saskatchewan teachers.
